Match of the Week Report
Unluckily the real Colts GM couldtn play and i had to find a sub. 49ers GM stepped in and battled tough to win this game for Indianapolis.
Passing attack by QB Manning was great but the Titans defense only allowed one touchdown and 2 fieldgoals to secure a big win over the divisional rivals from Indianapolis, 21-13 Tennessee.
Dime cornerback Williams opened ths scoring with a 67 yard interception return touchdown. Before that tha kicker Bironas missed a 46 yard fieldgoal attempt for the Titans.
In the second quarter LB Keihao intercepted the QB Young for the first time of the day. Manning passed to FBTE Tamme and tied the score, 7-7. Another Young interception let the Colts try a fieldgoal short before halftime but K Vinatieri missed it from 56 yards!
The first drive of the second quarter was the best one tennessee showed that game and HB Johnson ran in for a 1 yard touchdown, 14-7 Titans. Vinatieri scored three points from 20 yards, only 14-10 Tennessee. During the fourth quarter Hayden intercepted Young for the third time and again Vinatieri from 33 yards put on three more points for the Colts, 14-13. With 4 minutes to play Tennessee was able to put on another long drive and WR Washington decided the match with a 14 yard touchdown catch for the final score 21-13 Titans!

The Titans won their first game of the season against the Jaguars 38-9 
New hired Gm No.80 was very pleased about this game with his new team. The defense played well and only 3 fieldgoals were shot against them. On top they intercepted the Jaguars QB (QB Garrard out in the second qurtaer, QB McCown out in the fourth quarter) two times.
On offense the running game was very satisfying and also the passes from QB Young were good (3 tds, 1int).
Alltogether a really nice start for GM No.80 and his team. Time will tell if this divisional matchup win showed the real strength of Tennessees team or if they just had a good day. |
