Lions ready to roll
Detroit Lions had very little reasons to be happy about last season. But this year, after good draft and busy offseason, they might have something to smile about.

Everybody knew that Ndamukong Suh is gonna be starter on this team from the get go to improve weak D-line. Former Pro-bowler DE Kyle Vanden Bosch was signed as free agent and DE/DT Cary Williams was traded for to help Suh form new improved interior front. Rookie half back Jahvid Best was drafted to backup Kevin Smith at first, but showed amazing playmaking skills at training camp, only to be given starting job at start of the season.
Lions made some additions in recieving corps aswell, signing speedy WR Nate Burleson and complete the trade that land them sure handed TE Tony Scheffler. Those two will took some pressure of Calvin Johnson and prevent teams from double teaming star WR all the time.
Lions O-line was one of the worst in whole league last season, thats why Lions brought in 3 new starters, Guards Rob Sims(seahawks), Rex Hadnot(cardinals) and tackle Levi Jones are all improvements from last year.
But Lions didnt stop there, bringin in 4 new defensive backs, Chris Houston and Dre Bly both newcomers are projected starters,FA pickup Johnatan Wade is nickel corner at the moment, but coaches say he is competing with Bly for a starting spot.
Lions last minute addition to secondary might be thier best.former Packers and aints corner Mike McKenzie was signed just before FA deadline and will be moved to saftey spot, his experience and leadship will surley benefit second year phenom FS Luis Delmas who was one of the few birght spots on last years team.

Unsatisfied with the way their linebackers performed last season, Lions decide to let some of the old faces go and brought in fresh meat. Tavares Gooden who showed some flashes in ravens uniform but was stuck behind depth finally has perfect opurtunity to shine. He in Jordon Dizon were sopposed to compete for starting job, but battle was over just couple of day into camp since gooden was killing everybody and anything that moved. Gooden will share starting iniside LB spot with Julian Peterson.

Two more Lbs were brought in, rookie AJ Edds from dolphins and Clint Sintim from Giants. Sintim is favorite to start at right outside spot. He showed great pass rushing ability, has decent AWR and is sure tackler.

With all draft/FA picks and trades, Lions are able to present 14 new startes this season. New management is in front of great challenge, it looks good on paper but that doesnt mean much in football. "Its gonna be war every sunday" says team captain Julian Peterson "but we welcome the challenge. You gonna see different Lions this season."

Matt Stafford told reporters recently that he is little upset that summer is over(we dont blame him) but is excited to back on the field again. "Lets roll"
